feld|spar «FEHLD SPAHR, FEHL-», noun.
any one of several crystalline minerals composed of silicate of aluminum, combined with potassium, sodium, calcium, and barium. Feldspars are found in igneous rocks and are the most abundant minerals near the surface of the earth. They are used in making glass and pottery. Also, especially British, felspar.
